Prayer Walk

Amy Worsham, ministries coordinator of the First United Methodist Church, posts a blessing on a prayer tree while she stops at the station as part of the prayer walk.
People wanting to enrich their lives spiritually may want to consider the opportunity of a 30 minute prayer walk at First United Methoidst Church, located at 502 N. 6th. Street in Orange.
Church officials are offering the opportunity to get closer to God to not only church members, but the general public as well.
Those participating in the Prayer Walk will go through 10 stations, which have been set up by parishioners.
Some of the themes of the tables will give participants a chance to ask, "Who am I?" or the opportunity to consider their journey with God. People will also be given the chance to consider their blessings and gifts in life and God's love.
"Each station will mean something different to each person, "said Amy Worsham, ministries coordinator for First United Methodist Church. "This is like their own personal adventure with God."
Participants are encouraged to spend as much time as they like on the path. They need not feel preassured to move on and can let others pass by. Participants can also use the suggested activities as they deem appropriate.
A facilitator will be at the front entrance and the end of the walk to assist if needed. Instructions will also be available at the front door.
The Lenten walk is continuing through March 12. The walk hours are 2-8 pm, with the exception of noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 9th. Participants should call the church and schedule an appointment. Family members are allowed to walk together.
For more information, or to set up an appointment, call 409-886-7466.
More than 100 people are expected to talke the walk. Time slots are limited. There are only about 30 appointments still available, Worsham said.
