That was THEN..............This is
NOW!
It's retirement time and I would like to link up with any former students that I may have taught over the last 35 years. Yes, I know--it can't be possible--trust me--it is!!
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Minden, Louisiana,
at the same time as Adam and Eve, and raised in small town USA, Heflin, Louisiana..OK, who
cares! Enough of that. The point here is to locate former classmates or students...
so to do that one needs to know that I graduated from Heflin High School, 1960 (contact me). From 1960 to 1964 Louisiana Tech was my home. Armed with my B.A. degree and high hopes of teaching
everyone to speak and write correctly(yeah, right), I headed for Cajun Country, Lake
Charles, Louisiana. My destination was Oak Park Junior High where I was going to
change the world (hey, it could happen). The first task here was learning how to pronounce
Fontenot, Boudreaux and Thibodeaux. Now, here is where my life's ambition began to
materialize....absolutely wonderful students (Sandy Schellack....where are you?)
While in Lake Charles, I took advantage of the University across the street (McNeese State University) and acquired a Master's Degree
in Supervision and Administration. Money began to be important, so I crossed the Sabine
River in 1971 and became a TEXAN and a began a long career at West Orange Cove Consolidated Independent School
District. That would be in Orange, Texas! By the way, the money thing
never happened. Of 35 years in education (in numerous capacities), 29 of them have
been in Orange even until this very day. With retirement clearly within reach,
nostalgia is creeping in also.....THUS, the reason for this page. If you were ever a student or classmate of mine, I
want to hear from you.

Pink
Floyd... Simply the best!
Just in case, for some strange reason, you
thought I might have spent all these years doing all work and no play....NOT. Pink
Floyd has been around my entire adult life and I am still a faithful follower. You
figure it out.
Nothing better!
I will forever be grateful to Dianne & Jim
Branch for introducing me to the mountains, skiing, and snowmobiling. If I had only
known how much I would love the mountains, I would have gone there directly from Louisiana
Tech. Since I love the mountains so much, I felt the need to share my enthusiasm. To
do that, many former students and I have taken ski trips during Christmas vacation.
If you went on one of those trips,
Love to Travel
Don't dare tell me to come visit if you live in
some exotic place that I have not yet had an opportunity to visit. I'm there!
Love computers!
If there is any spare time after teaching
all day, taking pictures for the yearbook, exercizing, you know..all the regular
stuff..then I like to surf the web and create computer projects.
Panda Bears
They are so cute, but most of all, they are an endangered
species. We can't let these beautiful animals die out on us. I collect PANDA BEARS! Save the PANDA!
It's the real thing!!
Not that anyone really cares, but I also
collect COKE stuff!! The best thing I have is one of the old Coca Cola metal trays
left over from my dad's service station in Heflin, Louisiana. Wow! If I had
only kept all that stuff from 50 years ago, I would have one awesome collection.
When I win the
LOTTO..... This will be my home. UNTIL THEN ....no husband, no
kids, no pets..... no problems!!
Come visit Texas!
